Inspired by Japanese paper lanterns, I built the Fish Lamp as a fun weekend project to create custom lighting for my office. Using wood dowels, hot glue, colored tissue paper, and tacky glue, I designed a simple geometric fish that functions as both a sculpture and a lamp. The open mouth directs light onto my desk for focused work, while the body produces a soft ambient glow throughout the room.
