The LIGHTSCAPE Chandelier, awarded 2nd place in the Robert Bruce Thompson Annual Student Light Fixture Design Competition, is a modular lighting system designed for Midwestern hotel conference spaces. Composed of an array of suspended modules, the fixture can be customized to different room sizes, with each module individually lowered for maintenance. Integrating OLED panels and LED tape lighting, the chandelier creates multiple lighting atmospheres—from soft ambient illumination that washes down the plywood fins to a subtle sparkle of individually controlled LEDs. When combined, the layered lighting accentuates the chandelier’s sculptural form while activating the room for vibrant gatherings and events.
